H.O.P.E. was chosen as the name of this newsletter, because that is what it will provide - HOPE as you journey through your home buying process. First time home buyers often face intimidation and fear by just thinking about purchasing a home. The thought alone can be so overwhelming and seemingly "impossible" to achieve. Often times we look at what we don't have as a measuring tool to dictate what we should and could have in life. We particularly like this scripture: Hebrews 11:1 - "Faith is the confidence that what we HOPE for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see." This scripture brings light to those darkened thoughts. It encourages us to have confidence in the things that we HOPE for even though we cannot "yet" see those things! For the purpose of our newsletter...we want you to have "confident hope" that you will soon become a home owner! We wouldn't be fair to you if we didn't also include that purchasing a home requires "more" than having faith, confidence and hope. You must also apply a little bit of elbow grease and put in the work it requires to purchase a home. What type of work? Cleaning up and/or maintaining your credit, keeping steady employment, paying down debt(s), saving money, and educating yourself about the home buying process. Ever heard this before? "Faith without works is dead" this is a true statement. Your faith should propel you to "work" towards achieving your goal of homeownership. Please don't pay attention to the "nay-sayers" that tell you purchasing a home is a terrible experience; or that it's too hard; or that the process is very complicated. If you prepare and educate yourself before you begin your home buying process you will increase your chances of having a smooth home buying experience. You want to know one of the most important keys to a smooth home buying experience? Organization! If you organize your documents needed to purchase a home (w-2's, pay stubs, rent checks/receipts, and other important documents) you will be way ahead of the game! Buyers usually become frustrated and declare the process "too hard" because, they are unorganized with their paperwork. So, until next time...Continue to exercise your faith with confident hope and begin to put in the required work to become a homeowner!
